Location: LEARN 6 North Chicago - Great Lakes, IL 60088.

Salary Range: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00.

Position Overview

The Classroom Teacher will be responsible for daily operations in the classroom, providing high‑quality instruction to all students each day. The teacher will cultivate ongoing relationships with students’ families, staff, and community members, and maintain a supportive, community‑based learning environment.

• Effectively implement instructional programs and strategic interventions that drive results.
• Implement instructional activities that follow curricular guidelines and frameworks.
• Use data to improve instruction and enhance student achievement.
• Differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students with various academic and social needs.
• Provide a positive learning environment that promotes thinking; the classroom environment is supportive and community‑based.
• Demonstrate effective classroom management skills that contribute to a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment and meet school‑wide goals.
• Maintain a professional working relationship with parents.
• Cultivate ongoing relationships with students’ families, staff, and other community members.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Teachers will work in a busy, active classroom environment with multiple simultaneous activities and situations. They must supervise all children at all times and may participate in organizational events and professional development.

They may lift and carry children and equipment, sit on the floor or child‑sized furniture, and use standard business office equipment. They will also clean and maintain classroom equipment and furniture.

Physical demands include standing, bending, reaching, stooping, walking, kneeling up to 60% of the day, and walking up and down stairs multiple times a day. Minimum lifting of 15 to 40 pounds for short periods is expected.
