Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field with 2 years of related experience or Master's with applied experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
• Experience in at least one modern language: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, or Rust.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps concepts and software lifecycle.
• Exposure to CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated security and testing practices.
• Experience with Git and software development tools.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, D3, and frameworks like Angular, Vue, React.
• Experience using wireframing and design tools for UI/UX development.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work independently or in a team.
• Commitment to MITRE’s mission and ability to work on mission-focused projects.
• Position requires minimum 50% hybrid on-site; US citizen for security clearance.

While responding to thesechallenges,youwillleverageand growyourhands-on skills with software design and development, engaging in the full software engineering lifecycle using modern technologies.

Youwillgain experience with one or more of the following:

• Cloud Engineering


• DevSecOps


• Full-Stack Development


• Embedded Systems and Internet of Things


• Practical Applications of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and AI-Enabled Software Engineering


• Familiarity with user-centered design principles as applied throughout the software development cycle


• Developswireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas


• Mission-based software engineering and deployment

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical degree with 2 years of related experience or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical degree with applied experience.


• Ability to obtain andmaintaina US government security clearance.


• Demonstrated experience developing software in at least one modern programming language such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, or Rust.


• Working knowledge of software development practices and the software lifecycle, with exposure toDevSecOpsconcepts and practices.


• Familiarity with modern development approaches such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Infrastructure as Code, and automated security and testing practices.


• Experience using software development tools and frameworks, including source control tools such as Git.


• Proficiencyin JavaScript, HTML, CSS, D3, and one or more modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Vue, React, or similar libraries.


• Experience using wireframing and design tools to support user interface and user experience development.


• Demonstrated ability to learn and applynew technologies, tools, and frameworks quickly.


• Ability to contribute effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.


• Demonstrated commitment to MITRE’s mission and a desire to help solve critical national challenges.


• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.


• This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site


• Per the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference given to candidates who have completed an advanced degree in a technical discipline (including but not limited to Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, etc.)


• Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance.


• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.


• Familiarity with Cloud Services Providers (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.).


• Knowledge of software design patterns, database technologies, including relational or NoSQL.


• Knowledge of Generative Pretrained and Large Language Models and use in the Software Development Lifecycle.


• Knowledge of user-centric engineering tools and techniques and a passion for developing user-centric systems that contribute to mission success


• Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.


• Experience applyingDevSecOps& full-stack application development practices in support of mission-focused software delivery.
