Job description

Help grow HGC's presence throughout Dallas—Fort Worth and across the South Central U.S. region, working on complex noise, vibration, and acoustics projects. Based in the DFW metroplex and working primarily from home, you'll take real ownership — building client relationships, winning and delivering work, and representing HGC directly in the market, with the full depth of one of North America's largest acoustics consulting firms behind you. It's a role for a self-starter who thrives on both technical challenge and client development, and who wants to see their decisions and efforts translate directly into business growth and project success.

You’ll apply specialized technical expertise across a broad mix of commercial, industrial, scientific, healthcare, residential, transportation, defence, and institutional projects — spanning environmental noise and vibration, architectural acoustics, building noise and vibration isolation, transportation system planning, and industrial noise control, on work across the United States, Canada, and abroad. Day to day, you’ll manage projects from proposal through delivery, conduct site measurements and analysis, develop practical solutions, and serve as the primary point of contact for your clients.

Your team

HGC is one of North America’s largest employee-owned consulting firms specializing exclusively in noise, vibration, and acoustics. In this role you’ll represent HGC in the DFW market with real independence, while drawing on a deep North American network of technical specialists whenever a project calls for it. You’ll be connected to colleagues who bring genuine depth, experience, and creativity to challenges across the full spectrum of noise, vibration, and acoustics.

It’s a chance to grow your market and client relationships while building specialized expertise within an established, respected firm — where your technical judgement, client relationships, and drive directly shape the results you deliver.

Your key functions & responsibilities

You will contribute to all phases of project delivery, including:

Client Development and Market Presence
  • Building and growing client relationships across the DFW area and Texas
  • Responding to client inquiries, preparing proposals, and converting opportunities into work
  • Serving as a primary day-to-day contact for clients on your projects
  • Representing HGC professionally with clients, regulators, and industry stakeholders
Project Delivery and Technical Work
  • Managing projects from proposals through delivery, coordinating schedules and deliverables
  • Visiting client sites, conducting field measurements and deploying instrumentationDeveloping acoustical models and performing technical analyses to interpret results and develop practical solutions
  • Preparing technical reports, documentation, and project deliverables
  • Reviewing work to maintain high standards of technical quality
  • Monitoring project budgets and schedules
  • Contributing to the ongoing advancement of HGC's technical capabilities
Your characteristics, skills & knowledge

Successful candidates will bring a combination of technical depth, client focus, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, including:

Personal Attributes
  • A skilled relationship-builder with a demonstrated aptitude for client development and business growth
  • A high degree of self-direction, with the capacity to work autonomously and manage competing priorities without close oversight
  • A strong sense of ownership and personal accountability for project and business outcomes
  • Sound professional judgement and comfort making decisions independently
Technical and Professional Foundation
  • Strong technical knowledge of acoustics, vibration, noise, or related disciplines
  • Experience with measurement instrumentation, modelling, simulation, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Working knowledge of project coordination and management principles
  • Ability to review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common productivity applications
Your education & career experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Acoustics, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of experience in noise, vibration, acoustics, or a related engineering field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation, INCE member or equivalent professional certification
  • Experience in a dynamic consulting environment is strongly preferred, particularly within architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), or industrial sectors
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships, preferably within AEC or industrial consulting environments
  • Proven ability to build client relationships and support or lead business development
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate project deliverables and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
