Job summary

BELFOR is seeking an Operations Support professional in Michigan to provide remediation assistance for fire damage projects. The role involves supervising a small crew, performing dry and wet pre-cleaning, and following BELFOR processes to meet standards.

Qualified candidates should have 12 months BELFOR experience at the Fire Damage Specialist – Basic Level or equivalent, plus involvement in at least 25 fire damage projects. Nights, weekends, and travel may be required as part of the position.

Qualifications

• Supervision of unskilled labor on residential and light commercial projects
• Dry and wet pre-cleaning and cleaning under supervision
• Maintaining equipment used in daily tasks
• Additional other duties as required

Responsibilities

• Following instruction and working well under supervision
• Coordinate a small crew of unskilled laborers and keep them on task and working towards a defined objective
• Become familiar with all industry standard odor and smoke removal techniques
• Be familiar with and able to perform all industry standard structure cleaning processes
• Safely remove debris from affected structure/property while protecting un-affected areas
• Aid in the installation and maintenance of containments
• Demonstrate ability to answer simple questions related to the project or defer to more experienced team member
• Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
• Maintain attention to detail
• Meet BELFOR Standards in safeguarding property
• Understand customer service principles and practices
• Work under time constraints to meet timelines
• May require nights, weekends, and travel
• Report time worked and equipment/consumables used accurately
• Attend BELFOR safety training courses as required

Position Overview

This position is responsible to provide operational support in remediation efforts for clients. Qualified candidates will be responsible to perform basic level tasks relative to dry and pre-cleaning damage structures using accepted BELFOR Processes and meeting BELFOR standards. Intermediates assist with the development of basic level technicians and they assist advanced technicians on large or complex projects. In order to qualify for this position, you must have 12 months previous BELFOR experience at the Fire Damage Specialist -- Basic Level -- or equitable industry standard experience, as well as direct involvement in 25 (minimum) fire damage projects. This position is the level 3 in the Progressive Fire Damage track.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the installation and maintenance of the containments
• Demonstrate ability to answer simple questions related to the project or defer to more experienced member of the team.
• Perform Daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain in clean serviceable condition
• Must maintain attention to detail
• Will be required to meet BELFOR Standards in safeguarding other people's property
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
• Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
• Will be required to work nights and weekends as requested and travel periodically
• Report time worked and equipment and consumables used timely and accurately
• Attend BELFOR sponsored operations and safety training courses as required
