Job summary

NBBJ Columbus is seeking a Project Architect to contribute to new construction and renovation projects across Healthcare, Higher Education, Corporate and Commercial practices. You will perform architectural design and lead project delivery with client contact and leadership responsibilities.

Applicants should have 8+ years in architecture, Revit fluency, and an accredited architecture degree. Travel and licensure requirements apply; position based in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in the architectural field.
  • Fluency in Revit.
  • Architectural Licensure; LEED or other sustainability accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documentation and deliverables from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Collaborate with the contractor and major trades on project delivery strategy and execution.
  • Provide oversight and quality control of design documents.
  • Identify objectives with clients and team members and formulate creative solutions.
  • Interpret design concepts and translate them into workable construction systems and detailing.
  • Maintain records for project phases per firm standards.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of team members and consultants, providing direction and mentoring.

The Role At a Glance

This is an excellent opportunity for you to join NBBJ Columbusas aProject Architect. Candidates will have the opportunity to work on new construction and/or renovation projects within our Healthcare, Higher Education, Corporate or Commercial practice. The Project Architect performs architectural design and delivery involving client contact and leadership responsibilities.

In Your New Role, You Will
  • Prepare appropriate documentation and deliverables from schematic design through construction administration in accordance with established firm and industry standards.
  • Work closely with the project team including the contractor and major trades on project delivery strategy and execution.
  • Provide oversight and quality control of the design documents.
  • Work with clients and team members to identify objectives, develop options, and formulate creative solutions.
  • Interpret design concepts by collaborating with project team and translate them into workable construction systems and detailing, while maintaining design intent and advocating for design excellence.
  • Maintain appropriate records for project phases in accordance with established firm and industry standards.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of other team members and consultants, providing direction, guidance, and mentoring as appropriate.
What You Will Need To Succeed
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in the architectural field
  • Fluency in Revit
  • B Arch or M Arch degree
  • Architectural Licensure; LEED or other sustainability accreditation preferred.
  • Proven ability to work within a highly collaborative team environment
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment; setting an example for others
  • Ability to travel as the project(s) requires
