Job summary

Cyber Defense Technologies (CDT) is seeking an Intermediate Penetration Tester to support a government customer onsite in Chantilly, VA. An active Top Secret/SCI with CI poly is required. OSCP is highly recommended.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 3 years of Pen Tester experience.
• Experience in cyber security with a focus on red teaming, penetration testing, or threat hunting.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic reconnaissance and vulnerability scanning using established testing methodologies.
• Identify common vulnerabilities, document and report findings.
• Possess basic scripting abilities and understand network fundamentals and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Conduct more complex penetration tests, exploring misconfigurations and zero-day exploits, and develop sophisticated exploitation techniques.
• Lead penetration tests, mentor junior testers, and provide technical guidance to stakeholders.
• Demonstrate expertise in network protocols, application security, social engineering, and advanced scripting.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing basic reconnaissance and vulnerability scanning in accordance with established testing methodologies
• Identifies common vulnerabilities that can be potentially exploited, documents and reports findings.
• Possess basic scripting abilities and an understanding of network fundamentals and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Conducting more complex penetration tests, exploring more complex vulnerability analysis including misconfigurations and zero-day exploits, and developing more sophisticated exploitation techniques.
• Leads penetration tests, mentoring junior testers, and providing technical guidance to stakeholders.
• Possess expertise in network protocols, application security, social engineering, and advanced scripting.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and 3 years of Pen Tester experience.
• Associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant work experience, Bachelor’s Degree and 3years of relevant work experience, Master’s degree and 2 year of relevant work experience.
