Job summary

Enbridge is seeking an engineer to apply hydraulic models and engineering tools to forecast daily gas capacities across U.S. systems, support outages, and optimize flow while balancing safety and reliability.

You will collaborate with Capacity Planning and other teams to translate model results into actionable recommendations, drive asset optimization, and assist with storage expansion and project execution.

This role involves limited travel (<5%), a hybrid work model, and a strong emphasis on safety, integrity, and compliance across multiple states.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of oil and gas pipeline experience with a relevant engineering degree.
  • Understanding of natural gas pipeline systems and safety/compliance guidelines.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll apply your technical knowledge and oil and gas experience to help optimize the daily operation of Enbridge’s U.S. Gas Transmission and Midstream assets. You’ll calculate natural gas operating capacities, evaluate pipeline configurations, strategically plan outages, forecast demand, and assess near term opportunities, all while balancing efficiency, reliability, and customer needs. What You Will Do
  • Apply hydraulic models and engineering tools to determine, forecast, and post daily pipeline capacities across assigned U.S. gas systems.
  • Monitor and reassess capacities as outage plans change, finding opportunities to reduce customer impact through optimized outage scheduling.
  • Analyze operating parameters to optimize gas flow, support outages, and ensure safe, achievable capacity levels.
  • Communicate modeling results through clear reports, presentations, and recommendations that support business decision-making.
  • Support asset optimization strategies, capital project development, and operational enhancement initiatives.
  • Assist with storage expansion, debottlenecking, budgeting, coordination, and project execution to improve system flexibility and performance.
Who You Are
You have:
  • 2+ years of oil & gas pipeline experience along with a bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, petroleum, or chemical engineering
  • A general understanding of natural gas pipeline systems & gas flow while upholding Enbridge's core values of safety, integrity, respect, inclusion and high performance along with our ways of working with compliance procedures and processes across multiple states for combustion equipment

The Following Are Considered Assets
  • Experience with gas pipeline hydraulic simulation & ready to learn more
  • Experience with Gas Control and Gas Pipeline & Storage Operations
  • Understanding of pipeline and storage commercial operations and energy markets
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of Enbridge's Gas Transmission and Midstream (GTM) assets
  • Working knowledge of Gregg Engineering modeling software
  • Professional Engineering designation
Working Conditions
  • Office environment.
  • Limited (<5%) travel with the ability to travel and work throughout Canada and United States.
Physical Requirements Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Salary
  • Ranges from $85,000-$105,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
