Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking an Intermediate Laboratory Technician to independently collect, prepare, and test samples in the Central Lab, focusing on mechanical testing to ensure data is complete and traceable.

The role requires maintaining sample integrity, coaching Lab Tech 1 teammates, and supporting a safety-first culture in a fast-paced lab environment at the Apple Grove facility.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in chemistry, material science, or related field.
• Minimum of one year performing preparation and mechanical testing or similar experience in lab activities.
• Experience with ASTM/ISO testing procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies in all activities.
• Follow Nucor's Safety First culture in daily work.
• Perform sample collection, preparation, and testing per plan and priorities.
• Ensure test data is complete, traceable, and transferred to UMS/L2 systems.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and organize work areas; assist with routine maintenance.
