Job summary

NBBJ is seeking an intermediate interior designer or interior architect to join our collaborative firm and work on projects at scales from education to healthcare. The role offers growth within a fast-paced environment and exposure to innovative design that integrates research, science and strong client teamwork.

You will develop design concepts, produce contract documents, and lead meetings with clients and consultants, using Revit, Rhino, SketchUp and the Adobe suite to communicate ideas

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of professional experience in Interior Design
• Architecturally trained designers with a degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture preferred
• LEED Accreditation or progress toward it within 18 months of hire

The Role At a Glance

We are seeking an intermediate interior designer or interior architect to work on projects at a variety of scales including large complex projects. The position will offer the candidate opportunities to grow within the firm and exposure to an innovative, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment

In Your New Role, You Will

• Design and documentation support and leadership on projects of various sizes and complexities
• Develop and implement overall design concepts and finish palettes through all phases of design
• Produce contract documents

What You Will Need To Succeed

• 5-10 years of professional experience in Interior Design
• A preference for architecturally trained designers with a minimum qualification of Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
• Experience in complex science, research, higher education or healthcare is a plus.
• LEED Accreditation or within 18 months of hire
• Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills
• Strong verbal and graphic communication skills.
• Proficiency in Revit with 3D modeling skills essential.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch Up, Rhino and/or 3DS Max
• Experience with furniture, fittings and equipment selection / specification is required
• Creation of presentation books and materials
• Experience with researching, selecting, and specifying materials and finishes
• Confident and experienced in running meetings with clients and consultants
• Good knowledge of relevant Building Regulations and Statutory Codes
• Ability to work in a collaborative, open environment
• Desire to help drive innovative design solutions
