About Ròhme
Ròhme is a Los Angeles-based architecture and interior design studio working across high-end residential, hospitality, retail, and experiential environments.
Our practice is rooted in the thoughtful integration of architecture, interiors, materiality, and custom design. We approach each project with intellectual curiosity, technical rigor, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, history, and the relationship between design disciplines.
We are building a small, highly capable team of talented, ambitious designers who are deeply invested in their craft.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Intermediate Interior Designer with a strong background in interior architecture, refined design sensibility, and demonstrated expertise in technical documentation.
The ideal candidate is equally passionate about design and the discipline required to translate thoughtful concepts into beautifully executed, coordinated construction documents.
This is a hands-on role working directly with our principals across residential, hospitality, and commercial projects. We value designers who think critically, take initiative, demonstrate ownership of their work, and bring both creative intelligence and technical precision to the studio.
The position will begin part-time, with the potential for expanded hours and a full-time role as the studio grows. We welcome both experienced independent designers and ambitious professionals seeking a longer-term position.
Responsibilities
- Design and document sophisticated interior architectural environments, with particular expertise in interior elevations, custom millwork, cabinetry, and casework, including detailed plans, sections, and construction details.
- Develop coordinated finish plans, material schedules, and specifications.
- Produce furniture plans, space planning studies, and FF&E layouts with an understanding of proportion, circulation, and functionality.
- Prepare comprehensive reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), including architectural ceiling details, lighting coordination, and integration with building systems.
- Develop enlarged plans, interior architectural details, and comprehensive construction documentation.
- Support material research, finish selections, FF&E sourcing, and design presentations.
- Develop and coordinate 3D models for design development, documentation, and visualization.
- Maintain organized drawing sets, specifications, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, vendors, and fabricators to ensure technical accuracy and design intent.
- Independently manage assigned deliverables from design development through documentation.
Qualifications
- Approximately 4–7 years of professional experience in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture.
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency required; Revit proficiency strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and design visualization software, such as SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, or comparable platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in producing coordinated interior architectural drawing packages, especially interior elevations, millwork/casework details, finish plans, furniture layouts, and RCPs.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, architectural detailing, materiality, lighting integration, and consultant coordination.
- Excellent proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for finish schedules, specifications, FF&E tracking, and project organization.
- Experience with Studio Designer or comparable FF&E specification and procurement platforms is a plus.
- Refined design judgment, exceptional graphic communication, and attention to detail.
- Experience with sophisticated, design-driven projects in major design markets, particularly Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, or comparable locations, is highly valued.
- Experience within respected architecture or interior design practices, or a rigorous academic design background, is welcomed.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, resourceful, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership of work.
