Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, FL is seeking a systems analyst to maintain Epic and related systems, collaborating with clinicians to map workflows, perform gap analyses, and implement solutions. The role requires 3+ years in IT/healthcare and EPIC Healthy Planet Certification.

The position is full-time, daytime, on-site with its focus on problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional coordination with leadership and end users.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite of products.
  • EMR application/implementation experience.
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work with minimal guidance.
  • Rapid learner.
  • Knowledge of clinical/technical workflow (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains clinical and business systems to support patient care delivery.
  • Analyzes business problems and recommends solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain Epic and other systems.
  • Documents workflows, performs gap analysis, and develops future workflows during new implementations.
  • Communicates with hospital leadership, clinicians, and staff; participates in meetings and reports progress to the manager.
  • Designs, builds, and configures within Epic modules and third-party apps; maintains relationships with stakeholders.
  • Develops test scripts and materials for end-to-end workflow testing and documents outcomes.
  • Provides on‑call support in 24/7 production environments.

Job Description

Responsible for maintaining clinical and business systems to support patient care delivery. This position analyzes business problems and recommends solutions that align with organizational goals. This role collaborates with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain Epic and other associated systems. In addition, this position coordinates with physicians and end users to document workflows, perform gap analysis, and develop future workflows during new implementations. Additionally, this role requires effective communication with hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff. Responsibilities for this role include system maintenance, problem analysis, solution recommendation, workflow documentation, and effective communication. Actively participates in project, team, departmental, and other meetings, reporting status updates, accomplishments, tasks, and barriers to the manager. Designs, builds, and configures within assigned Epic system modules and supporting third-party applications. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, capturing business and technical requirements. Assesses workflow processes, identifies gaps, defines necessary process changes, and develops future workflows related to new solutions or functionality. Develops test scripts and materials for end-to-end workflow testing, performs unit, system, and integration testing, and documents outcomes. Remains current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates, ensuring software modifications/upgrades work according to Epic specifications. Follows departmental standards for software configuration control, quality assurance, and version releases, providing documentation and training on system upgrades and new releases. Troubleshoots issues or system deficiencies, initiates escalation procedures, and provides recommendations for resolution. Participates in multiple cross-functional projects, utilizing project planning and coordination procedures, tools, and lean methodologies. Provides guidance and acts as a resource for other analysts, project managers, and consultants. Provides on‑call support in a 24/7 production systems environment, acting as the primary support contact for the application's end‑users. Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement: Associates degree AND 3+ years of experience OR High School Grad or Equiv AND 5+ years of relevant experience.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $66,830.40 - $124,300.80
