Job summary

TechnipFMC is seeking a skilled machinist to produce quality components to exact specifications in a manufacturing environment. The role requires reading drawings and CMM reports, setting up tools and fixtures, and maintaining accurate documentation with programs.

You will apply basic Lean principles, work under limited supervision, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced shop. Spends 95% of time in shop and 5% in office; safety and quality are paramount as you contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least two years machining experience and inspection experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret drawings and technical specs.
  • Strong problem-solving and basic PC skills.

Responsibilities

  • Machining quality components to specified tolerances under limited supervision.
  • Read and follow QAP documentation and technical drawings.
  • Set up and operate tools, fixtures, and machines; document programs.
  • Apply basic Lean methodologies and meet deadlines.

Job Purpose

Will be directly responsible for machining quality components to stated specifications. Will be directly responsible for protecting machine tools from damage caused by "Crashes." The position requires a high degree of independent thinking, attention to detail, and resourcefulness to translate specifications into component requirements and apply the best practices effectively. Receives guidance with difficult technical and scheduling problems. Accuracy of machined components is required.

Job Description
  • Work under limited supervision and follows written and/or verbal instructions and established procedures to perform standardized or routine tasks.
  • Effectively retrieve, understand, and adhere to QAP documentation.
  • Possess and demonstrate basic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use and set up technical tools and instruments required to perform product line duties.
  • Demonstrates proficiency to read, interpret drawings, technical specifications and CMM reports.
  • Ability to identify all deviations in material requirements.
  • Responsible and accountable for set-up documentation (programs).
  • Ability to utilize and provide basic explanation of fixturing and machine offsets. Understanding of how to build complex tools.
  • Ability to perform autonomous maintenance.
  • Independently responsible and accountable for quality work.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities in addition to key performance objectives.
  • General understanding and application of basic Lean Methodology.

  • Previous inspection experience required.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Good Problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with a basic understanding of error proofing.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to unplanned events and changing priorities.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to receive on the job training
  • Understanding of and ability to train on 5S principles.
  • Advanced understanding of how to read and use measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read programs and perform basic editing.
  • Proficient in running machines such as a saw, basic mills, and two-axis lathes
  • Ability to train entry level machinists.

Spends 95% of the time in a manufacturing/shop environment and 5% in an office environment. Will be exposed to possible hazards including working with high-pressure equipment, working in limited spaces, high noise, inclement weather, chemicals, pressure testing, heavy lift operations and shop/field traffic.

Physical Demands:

Frequent walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing upward, crawling in limited workspaces, and repetitive lifting of components up to 50 lbs.
