Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks an Interior Electrician to install and repair wiring in offices, repair shops, hangars, and other buildings. You will learn to read blueprints, use trade tools, and ensure safe electrical systems while supporting Army National Guard operations.

You will train through Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training, gaining skills to pursue civilian contracting or utility work after service. Expect paid training and a path to tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical theory and safe work practices.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and wiring plans.
• Willingness to perform physical work and use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect power distribution systems and identify shorts or faulty equipment.
• Install and wire electrical hardware such as transformers, junction boxes, service panels, switches and breakers.
• Ensure electrical work safety and compliance using test meters.
