Job summary

RODE in Boston is seeking a full-time Interior Designer with 5–7 years of professional experience to join our collaborative studio, designing multi-family, hospitality, and commercial environments. This is a role for a designer who can take ownership of projects while growing within the team.

You will contribute to programming, space planning, schematic design, design development, FF&E specification, detailing, and construction administration, collaborating with senior staff and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited institution.
• 5–7 years of professional interior design experience.
• Experience across programming, space planning, schematic design, design development, material and finish selection, FF&E specification, detailing, consultant coordination, and construction administration
• Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam
• Strong collaboration, organization, and written/verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all phases of interior design from programming to construction administration.
• Coordinate project teams and manage tasks under guidance from senior staff.
• Develop material and finish selections and FF&E specifications.
• Prepare presentations and communicate design concepts clearly.
• Support studio culture and mentor junior staff as needed

Candidates Should Also Have

• Experience contributing to all phases of the interior design process, including programming, space planning, schematic design, design development, material and finish selection, FF&E specification, detailing, consultant coordination, and construction administration
• Strong design sensibility with an eye for materials, detailing, and creating memorable spaces
• Experience coordinating project teams and managing project tasks with guidance from senior staff
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines across several projects
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam
• A collaborative mindset with a desire to learn, mentor junior staff, and contribute to studio culture
• Experience in multi-family, hospitality, or commercial interiors is preferred
