Job description

BA Design | Seattle, Washington | Hybrid – 3 Days Per Week In-Office
The Opportunity

BA Design is seeking an experienced Interior Designer III to join its Seattle team and support a growing portfolio of large-scale workplace projects. This is an opportunity for a versatile designer who wants meaningful ownership throughout the design process—from programming and space planning through concept development, documentation, FF&E, coordination, and construction administration.

The Seattle team works on sophisticated workplace environments that may include corporate offices, collaboration and training spaces, cafés, amenity areas, executive spaces, and hospitality-inspired environments.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys leading design while remaining hands-on in the work, collaborating closely with clients and multidisciplinary project teams, and helping mentor less-experienced designers.

Why BA Design?

BA Design combines the resources and stability of a national architecture and interior design firm with the nimble, collaborative feel of a smaller Seattle studio.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Work on significant, large-scale workplace projects
  • Take meaningful ownership across multiple phases of design
  • Collaborate directly with clients, architects, consultants, and project teams
  • Build stronger project and client leadership skills
  • Help shape the continued growth of the Seattle interiors practice
  • Grow toward design leadership, client leadership, or business development
What You’ll Do
  • Lead and contribute to programming, workplace strategy, space planning, and conceptual design
  • Develop design solutions that align with client goals, project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Create presentations, renderings, material palettes, finish selections, and FF&E concepts
  • Translate design concepts into coordinated Revit documentation
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other project partners
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and user-group discussions
  • Research and specify materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and interior products
  • Review drawings and project documentation for quality, coordination, and design intent
  • Support projects through construction administration
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior and mid-level designers
What You’ll Bring
  • Approximately 7+ years of professional interior design experience
  • NCIDQ certification is required.
  • Meaningful experience with workplace or corporate interiors
  • Experience working across multiple project phases, ideally from early design through construction administration
  • Strong space planning and programming capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit
  • Experience developing design documentation and coordinating complex interior projects
  • Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, FF&E, and interior detailing
  • Client-facing experience
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong design thinking and relevant project experience
  • Ability to balance design leadership with hands-on execution
  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • A self-directed approach and willingness to take initiative
  • Hospitality projects involving lounges, amenity areas, cafés, and similar environments
  • Other large-scale commercial interiors requiring sophisticated space planning and coordination

Base Salary: $105,000–$120,000, depending on experience with bonus.

BA Design offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life, short-term and long-term disability insurance; a 401(k) plan with employer match; and paid vacation, sick, holiday, and volunteer time.

The firm also supports continued professional development, mentorship, and long-term career growth.
