Job summary

McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture seeks an Interior Designer II to contribute to design and presentation drafting, and to plan, design, and furnish interiors for public, commercial, and industrial buildings. You will conduct field verifications and research products to develop design criteria with clients.

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field.
  • Three (3) years related experience in a professional environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Adobe software.
  • Experience with CAID software.
  • Strong aesthetic judgment with balance, proportion, and color.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks with many competing priorities.

  • Design and provide drawings by hand or CAD software, including layout, workflow, furniture placement, and equipment locations.
  • Refine design to client’s satisfaction and present complete interior design concepts.
  • Produce specifications for construction elements, furnishings, and cost estimates.
  • Produce construction documents.
  • Perform construction administration.
  • Prepare and maintain design schedules.
  • Manage design budgets and cost control.
  • Design, develop, and coordinate interior graphics and signage packages.
  • Formulate designs that are practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes.
