Gilbert Architects is seeking a full-time interior designer to join our Lancaster, Pennsylvania team.

This role is ideal for a professional with 3–7 years in interior design or interior architecture.

DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Excellent communication and technical skills
  • Coordinating/communicating project needs with the design team, which includes architects, engineers, and marketing professionals
  • Generate and develop dynamic design ideas mainly for K–12 education learning environments
  • Planning, materiality detailing, and furnishings
  • Manage project expectations from concept design through construction administration
  • Maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and craftspeople.
  • Work in all aspects of design, including construction documentation, samples management, budgeting, and estimating.
  • Collaborate with other team members to find design solutions that provide the best value to the client
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 3-7 years of experience in interior design or interior architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or interior architecture from a CIDA-accredited program (preferred)
  • Possess a strong desire to learn or build upon an existing career in K–12 education design
  • Technical skills in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (preferred)
