Job summary

Amherst Regional Middle School in Amherst, MA is seeking an Interim Special Education English Language Arts teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Qualifications

• Valid MA license in special education appropriate for the grade level.
• Valid MA license in English Language Arts for the appropriate grade level, or evidence of meeting competency requirements.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and IEP implementation.
• Experience providing differentiated and specially designed instruction.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver specially designed instruction aligned with students' IEPs.
• Develop, adapt, and deliver differentiated instruction, assignments, and assessments.
• Prepare and modify instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
• Assess student work and provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Monitor student progress and maintain documentation.
• Participate in IEP team meetings.
• Provide input for IEPs, progress reports, and other documentation.
• Coordinate with families and communicate student progress and needs.
• Collaborate with related service providers and school staff.
• Co-plan with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
• Provide guidance on accommodations and modifications.
