Qualifications

  • Provide direct counseling support for a caseload of students receiving services
  • Advocate for students' social/emotional needs within the school setting
  • Maintain ongoing communication with students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate educational access for students
  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations as part of the state-mandated special education evaluation process, including assessment, interpretation of data, written reports, and participation in Team meetings to support eligibility determination and educational planning
  • Work collaboratively within a team of special educators, general educators, and teaching assistants
  • Support students with transition planning as it pertains to their on-going therapeutic needs
  • Develop student specific social/emotional goals via the IEP process for special education students with on-going written progress monitoring
  • Participate as a member of Huckleberry Hill School Special Education Planning Team
  • Provide consultation to teachers, staff, and families regarding students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs
  • Support the development and implementation of behavioral interventions, accommodations, and student support plans
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal or the Huckleberry Hill School Team Chair
