Job summary

Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking an Interim Nurse Manager – Utilization Management for a W2 contract in San Diego, CA. The role is full-time with schedule 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, assignment duration 13 weeks with potential extension.

Compensation offers weekly pay between $4,926 and $5,475 (all-in), with possible per diems and reimbursements. Benefits include paid sick leave, holidays, medical/dental/vision, a Cafeteria plan, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• BSN or BA in health care related field preferred; Masters degree considered.
• CPR certificate required.
• Extensive nursing experience in patient care and management/leadership roles (approx. 5 years).
• Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other local, state, federal regulations required.
• Previous supervisory experience (approx. 4 years) required.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages the operations of 24-hour departments that may be at multiple locations.
• Ensures staff provide high quality care and comply with Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and regulatory requirements.
• Establishes and maintains patient care and service standards to meet client expectations.
• Designs and evaluates processes to improve systems and patient care outcomes across the continuum.
• Develops and monitors budgets for human and material resources.
• Monitors financial performance and implements cost-reduction and quality-improvement strategies.
• Determines appropriate staff mix and develops processes to recruit, hire, and develop department staff.
• Ensures ongoing staff development.
• Develops and enforces departmental policy and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
• Oversees standards of care and practice, fiscal management, and quality improvement activities.
• Manages HR, employee and department safety, and risk management issues.
