Job summary

CFO’s Domain, a SolomonEdwards Company, is seeking a skilled Controller to join our interim consulting practice in Los Angeles. You will lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, ensure US GAAP compliance, and drive accurate financial reporting for diverse clients.

In this role you will partner with FP&A, manage journal entries, reconciliations, and internal controls, and support audits while optimizing close processes and reporting quality to deliver actionable insights for executive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 8+ years progressive accounting, audit, or controllership experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and monthly close processes.
• Experience with revenue accounting and contract terms preferred.
• ERP/financial systems experience required; advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to partner with FP&A, Tax, IT and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities in US GAAP.
• Oversee journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Review financial results for accuracy and proper classification.
• Support management reporting packages and executive-level analysis.
• Partner with FP&A to align actuals, forecasts, and reporting outputs.
• Support revenue accounting activities including billing and deferrals.
• Ensure proper recording of revenue/expense per policies and contracts.
• Oversee or support AP/AR, billing, collections, and vendor activity.
• Help with audit readiness, PBC schedules, and documentation.
• Strengthen policies, close procedures, controls, and approvals.
• Identify opportunities to improve close efficiency and data integrity.
• Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Ops, Sales Ops, Legal, Tax, IT, and business teams.
• Support process improvement, systems clean-up, and data-quality initiatives.
• Assist with ad hoc projects related to financial reporting and controls.
• Provide clear updates to leadership on close status and risks.
