Qualifications

• Significant progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
• Prior CFO, Interim CFO, VP of Finance, or comparable senior financial leadership experience.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and accounting operations.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and oversight across the finance and accounting functions.
• Partner with senior leadership on financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and business performance.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
• Develop and monitor financial forecasts, KPIs, and management reporting to provide enhanced visibility into business performance.
• Deliver financial analysis and actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
• Assess existing accounting processes, internal controls, reporting capabilities, systems, and finance infrastructure.
• Strengthen financial reporting, operational efficiency, and scalability.
• Provide oversight of monthly and year‑end close, financial statements, audit activities, and internal controls.
• Provide leadership and guidance to accounting and finance teams.
• Lead finance transformation, process improvement, and systems initiatives as appropriate.
• Support M&A integration, restructuring, transaction‑related activities, and other strategic initiatives as needed.
• Communicate financial performance, risks, and key business drivers to executive stakeholders

Remote | $90–$120/hour Depending on Experience | Contract

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an accomplished Interim Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic and hands‑on financial leadership to a corporate, private equity‑backed organization. This remote engagement is well suited for an experienced financial executive who can quickly assess the finance function, establish priorities, strengthen financial visibility, and partner with senior leadership to support organizational objectives.

The successful consultant will bring a combination of strategic financial leadership and operational expertise, with the ability to lead at the executive level while remaining closely engaged in day‑to‑day financial matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and oversight across the finance and accounting functions
• Partner with senior leadership on financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and business performance
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and accounting operations

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
• Significant progressive finance and accounting leadership experience
• Prior CFO, Interim CFO, VP of Finance, or comparable senior financial leadership experience
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and accounting operations
• Demonstrated ability to assess financial operations, establish priorities, and execute in a consulting or interim environment
• Strong analytical, strategic planning, and executive communication skills
• Proven experience leading finance teams and improving financial processes, controls, and reporting
• Experience supporting high‑growth, transformational, or rapidly evolving organizations preferred
• M&A, integration, restructuring, ERP implementation, or finance transformation experience highly desirable
• CPA and/or MBA preferred
