Responsibilities

Highspring has been engaged with a trusted Private Equity client, and they are in search of an Interim Chief Financial Officer for their $50M+ Manufacturing business. This is a hands‑on interim CFO role, where our interim will have responsibilities over finance and accounting function with a heavier hand in FP&A.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and private equity sponsors, ensuring accurate financial visibility and operational discipline.
• Oversee all finance and accounting activities, including month‑end close, cash management, and compliance.
• Lead FP&A efforts: build robust forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling to support strategic decision‑making.
• Develop KPI dashboards and financial models using advanced Excel skills.
• Prepare board materials and investor reporting; support strategic initiatives including cost optimization and working capital management.
• Mentor and support lean finance teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CFO or senior finance leader in PE‑backed mid‑market Manufacturing company (Food Manufacturing preferred), ranging in size from $50M–$200M in revenue.
• Strong technical accounting background (CPA preferred) and GAAP compliance expertise.
• Hands‑on Excel skills for modeling, reporting, and analysis.
• Calm, level‑headed demeanor with the ability to lead through change and uncertainty.
• Previous experience implementing tools such as AP & T&E systems is a plus.

Location

St. Louis preferred, but the CEO is completely open to an interim CFO traveling in as needed for the 3‑5 month engagement. In particular would like the interim CFO to travel in at the beginning to establish trust and rapport with the team.
