The successful candidate will drive transformation, ensure statutory compliance, and promote service excellence, commercial expansion, innovation, and cost‑effectiveness across Building Control operations.

Qualifications

• Senior-level leadership experience in Building Control/Surveying.
• Experience in Local Government or public sector settings.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive transformation.
• Experience in strategic planning and service improvement initiatives.
• Budget management and revenue-generating service experience.
• Contract management and external supplier oversight.
• Implementation of compliance and quality assurance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Building Control and Building Safety.
• Ensure compliance with Building Safety Regulator requirements and legislation.
• Establish and maintain quality assurance systems for service standards.
• Oversee service delivery, ensuring technical excellence and risk management.
• Lead adoption of new regulatory changes, including Building Safety Levy.
