Job summary

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Assistant Childcare Teacher to support daily child care and growth. You will work with a Lead Teacher, seniors, and volunteers to meet children's spiritual, developmental, nutritional, and personal needs.

Responsibilities include observing and responding to children's needs, maintaining health and safety, and participating in developmentally appropriate activities and play-based learning.

Qualifications

• Experience with children preferred.
• Completion of 44-hour state-approved training or equivalent.
• Infant/Toddler coursework within 6 months of assuming position.
• Maintains ongoing education as required by licensing.

Responsibilities

• Be sensitive to children's daily and changing needs and stay calm in stress.
• Care for routines: napping, feeding, diapering, toileting as needed.
• Provide warmth and affection and respect children as individuals.
• Communicate with parents and collaborate with Lead Teacher and seniors.
• Follow developmentally appropriate practices and center curricula.
• Assist in providing play-based learning experiences.
