Job summary

University of Vermont Health Network is seeking an Interfaith Chaplain in the Spiritual Care Department to provide compassionate spiritual care to patients, families and staff in a medically complex setting. The role emphasizes respect for all faiths and spiritual traditions within the inpatient environment.

You will perform pastoral visitation, rites and prayer as appropriate, participate in interfaith services, assist with bereavement and crisis support, and collaborate with interdisciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Master’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Divinity, Spirituality or related field strongly preferred.
• At least one CPE unit from ACPE-accredited center; 4 CPE credits preferred.
• Certification by APC, NACC, CASC, or NAJC required or actively pursued.
• Ordination or commissioning and endorsement for hospital chaplaincy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to patients, families and staff honoring diverse faiths.
• Offer inpatient spiritual support and respond to spiritual needs under supervision.
• Conduct pastoral visitation, ritual care, sacraments and prayer as appropriate.
• Participate in interfaith worship, memorial services, bereavement care and crisis intervention.
• Join interdisciplinary rounds to support collaborative care.
