Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking an engineer to own the technical challenges of delivering highly reliable space data from customers’ vehicles into the AWS cloud. You will collaborate with AWS engineering teams, deploy and operate global antenna systems, and mentor peers while traveling up to 25%.

This role requires a US citizen and offers opportunities to work on hardware-centric production environments, drive ambitious solutions, and grow within AWS Infrastructure Services.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of highly scalable systems experience.
  • Experience across satellite ground processing, networks and RF spectrum.
  • Experience deploying and operating a world-wide network of ground station antennas (S/X bands).

  • Work with vendors and AWS engineering teams to discover and implement the latest technologies.
  • Deeply own the deployment, operation, and maintenance of antenna systems around the world (<25% travel).

Our service enables customers to connect to their on-orbit spacecraft in an on demand model that leverages all the benefits of the AWS network and infrastructure.

We are growing our footprint and capabilities of satellite ground stations and are looking for an engineer to deeply own the technical challenges of delivering highly reliable space data from customers’ vehicles into the AWS cloud.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of highly scalable systems experience
  • Experience across all aspects of satellite ground processing, networks and radio frequency spectrum.
  • Experience deploying and operating a world-wide network of fully-articulating ground station antennas operating in S and X Bands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of satellite communications ground systems and operations experience
  • 3+ years of RF and Network test equipment associated with SATCOM communications experience
  • Experience participating in or leading technical collaborations and creating alignment across diverse groups (e.g., hardware engineering, software engineering, program management)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
