The Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a Program Coordinator to collaborate with the Director and Librarian in expanding research, education, arts, and public-facing programs. The role focuses on outreach, grant development, and interdisciplinary partnerships across the Five Colleges and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in early modern literature, history, or related field.
  • At least two years of arts administration experience.
  • Knowledge of subject areas related to Renaissance history, culture, arts and languages.
  • Successful grant writing experience and knowledge of funding opportunities and strategies.
  • Familiarity with rare books and manuscripts and ability to read roman, italic, and gothic typefaces.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, take initiative, and manage multiple complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and expand cross-institutional partnerships through outreach and program development.
  • Meet with students, scholars, and administrators across Renaissance Centers and programs.
  • Develop sustainable research partnerships with external Renaissance Centers.
  • Identify and pursue grant funding proposals regionally and nationally.
  • Steward designated Center financial resources toward mission goals.
  • Coordinate publicity, travel arrangements, room reservations, and facility use.
  • Create internships and expand work-study and educational programming across the Five Colleges.
