Qualifications

• MA, MFA, or PhD in Writing or English (with emphasis on composition and rhetorical studies; technical communication; professional writing; or related fields required)
• Terminal degree (MFA or PhD) strongly preferred
• Record of success teaching first-year writing in a diverse environment; minimum three years experience
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching students across a range of backgrounds and experience
• A record that demonstrates interest and commitment to service

Responsibilities

• Teach and design courses in first-year writing and related areas (Technical and Professional Communication; Multilingualism; or Community-Engaged Writing Pedagogies)
• Mentor and advise students; participate in curriculum development and updating
• Contribute to department service, governance, and program vitality
• Develop and align courses with student needs and institutional priorities
