Job summary

The University of Connecticut seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Head of the Department of Social and Critical Inquiry (SCI). This interdisciplinary unit established in 2024 brings together four areas including WGSS with Feminist Disability Studies.

The Head will guide strategic program development, strengthen faculty, students, and staff, and foster an inclusive intellectual community. Appointment will be at the rank of Professor, with emphasis on collaborative research and community

Qualifications

• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a primary field within the department or a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership at Department/Unit/Dean level with program building and curricular innovation.
• Proven teaching and interdisciplinary research excellence.
• Experience supporting engaged scholarship and community partnerships.
• Commitment to advancing diversity through research, teaching, or other activities.
