Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation seeks a School Programs Facilitator to guide on-site visits for school groups within the Historic Area, coordinating transitions and ensuring alignment with learning objectives to spark curiosity and critical thinking.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2–3 years of experience with students, with museum/tour-guide background preferred; overtime may occur during peak times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, experience, and training.
• 2–3 years of experience working with students or youth in educational settings, including leading groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality school programs on site, guiding groups through scheduled activities and locations.
• Communicate clearly with teachers and chaperones regarding schedules and expectations.
• Facilitate student engagement through inquiry-based discussions using Colonial Williamsburg's resources.
• Use age-appropriate language to make historical content accessible and engaging.
• Collaborate with Historic Trades and other departments to support program delivery.
