Job summary

Impact Life, Inc. is seeking a licensed Intensive Outpatient Therapist to join the Georgetown Outpatient team in Delaware. The role provides individual, group, and family counseling within an IOP setting, focusing on substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions.

The therapist will assess, plan, and implement treatment, coordinate care, and maintain compliant documentation in the EHR, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support clients through recovery.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Active Delaware license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH).
• Knowledge of behavioral health treatment, substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and evidence-based clinical practices.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling for clients in the Intensive Outpatient Program.
• Facilitate structured therapeutic groups using evidence-based practices for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and ongoing clinical assessments to determine treatment needs and levels of care.
• Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans based on client needs and clinical recommendations.
• Monitor and document client progress toward goals and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment when necessary.
• Coordinate care with case managers, peer recovery specialists, medical providers, and community partners to support continuity of care.
• Educate clients and families on substance use disorders, recovery principles, relapse prevention, and wellness.
• Conduct discharge planning and referrals to appropriate continuing care, treatment, and recovery supports.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the EHR.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, supervision, program development, and QA activities.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, licensing, payer, confidentiality, and organizational requirements.

Position Overview

Impact Life is seeking a licensed Intensive Outpatient Therapist to join our Georgetown Outpatient team. The IOP Therapist provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment services to individuals participating in our Intensive Outpatient Program, with a focus on substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

This position provides evidence-based individual, group, and family counseling and is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention, care coordination, clinical documentation, and supporting clients throughout their recovery.

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling for clients enrolled in the Intensive Outpatient Program.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field required.
• Active Delaware license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) required.
• Knowledge of behavioral health treatment, substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and evidence-based clinical practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or a related clinical setting.
• Experience providing individual and group therapy.
• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Experience utilizing evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, and trauma-informed care.
