Qualifications

Role Description

The Intensive Care Nurse at AdventHealth in Lake Wales, FL provides direct, high-acuity patient care in a critical care setting, monitoring complex conditions and responding promptly to changes in patient status. Responsibilities include performing detailed assessments, administering medications and therapies, managing advanced equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans. The nurse will communicate clearly with patients and families, provide education on treatments and recovery, and document all care accurately in the medical record. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support continuous patient care.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in general Nursing, including patient assessment, care planning, and clinical documentation.
• Competence in Critical Care Nursing, with experience managing high-acuity patients and advanced monitoring equipment.
• Knowledge of Medicine and Critical Care Medicine principles relevant to intensive care treatment and interventions.
• Experience or training in Emergency Nursing, including rapid response to acute changes in patient condition.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida (or ability to obtain before start date).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree in Nursing with relevant experience considered.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Critical Care or CCRN certification is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating sound clinical judgment, teamwork, and clear communication.
