Job summary

Makoa is seeking an Intelligence Planning SME to support the U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command's Intelligence Concepts and Experimentation Division at Fort Huachuca. You will integrate intelligence processes, doctrine, and future capabilities to develop realistic experiments and scenarios.

The ideal candidate has extensive Army or Joint intelligence planning experience, MDMP/JOPP/IPB knowledge, and a track record leading or supporting complex exercises and wargaming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in military science, Intelligence, International Relations, or related field.
• 10–15+ years of experience in military intelligence planning or operations.
• 5 years of active-duty Echelon Above Corps (EAC) experience.
• Strong knowledge of Army and Joint intelligence processes (MDMP, JOPP, IPB).
• Experience developing intelligence estimates, plans, and operational products.
• Experience supporting training exercises and mission planning.

# Intelligence Planning SMEFt Huachuca, AZ 85613## OverviewPosition TypeFull Time## DescriptionIntelligence Planning SME to support the U.S. Army Transformation and training Command (T2COM) Intelligence Concepts and Experimentation Division. This role executes intelligence planning efforts in support of experimentation and capability development initiatives. The Intelligence Planner integrates intelligence processes, doctrine, future capabilities and operational considerations to develop realistic scenarios, experiments, and advise senior leadership. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Army or Joint intelligence operations and planning.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:*** Develop coordinated experimentation support plans and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support experiment planning and execution.* Lead or support intelligence experimentation planning aligned with Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), intelligence warfighting functions, and future force concepts.* Assist with development, analysis, and management of experiment execution, including data collection, scenario integration, and operational alignment.* Support execution of simulation and stimulation activities, system excursions, and scenario-based experimentation using military modeling and simulation tools.* Develop experiment planning documents, vignettes, operational triggers, and scenario frameworks to support experimentation objectives.* Prepare and conduct briefs, assist with participant training, provide technical/operational execution support, and facilitate after-action reviews (AARs).* Identify experimentation risks and develop relevant mitigation strategies during events.* Provide recommendations and decision support for experimentation, evaluation, and demonstration events and recommend performance metrics to assess experiment effectiveness and technology utility.* Produce high-quality presentation items, intelligence planning documents, white papers, analysis summaries, and event reports in accordance with contractual requirements.* Participate in in-person and virtual meetings, document experimentation proceedings, and brief Senior Leaders as required.* Learn the capabilities of simulations and battle lab systems through on-the-job training (OJT) to support experiment design and execution.**Competencies:*** Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.* Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Strong supervisory and leadership skills.* Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.* Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.**Minimum Requirements/Education:*** Bachelor’s degree in military science, Intelligence, International Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience)* 10–15+ years of experience in military intelligence planning or operations* 5 years of active-duty Echelon Above Corps (EAC) experience* Strong knowledge of Army and Joint intelligence processes (e.g., MDMP, JOPP, IPB)* Experience developing intelligence estimates, plans, and operational products* Experience supporting training exercises, mission planning, or operational environments* Demonstrated leadership and team coordination experience**Preferred Skills:*** Former Army Intelligence Officer, Warrant Officer, or Senior NCO* Experience supporting ICoE, T2COM, or Intelligence Community (IC) organizations* Familiarity with training development processes (e.g., TR 350-70)* Experience with multi-domain operations (MDO) and emerging threats* Background in exercise design, scenario development, or wargaming**Security Clearance:*** Must be a U.S. Citizen* Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain a TS/SCI within 6 months.**Other duties:**Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
