Job description

Purpose and Impact

Intelligence doesn't support operations by accident. Someone has to build the bridge between what the IC can collect and analyze and what commanders actually need to plan and execute. As an Intelligence Planner supporting DIA, you'll integrate Defense and National intelligence capabilities, collection, analysis, and targeting, into operational planning across the Department of Defense. When a campaign plan comes together or a crisis breaks, your work is what makes intelligence show up on time and on target. This position is contingent upon award of contract, business needs, security clearance verification, and funding availability.

Location: National Capital Region (NCR)

Work Schedule: 0600 and 1800 – 8 hours M-F

Essential Responsibilities
  • Integrate collection, analytic, and targeting capabilities into overarching operational planning efforts across the DoD
  • Support development of campaign plans, deliberate planning, crisis management, and time-sensitive planning in accordance with the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES)
  • Assist with red teaming and intelligence operations feasibility assessments within the planning process
  • Prepare planning documents, written products, and executive briefings for government decision makers
  • Collaborate with analysts, collection managers, and operational planners across organizational boundaries
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • 8+ years of relevant intelligence or operational planning experience, with recent experience within the last 2 years
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Working knowledge of JOPES and the joint planning process
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with both intelligence professionals and operational planners
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior DIA or IC planning experience
  • Joint staff or Combatant Command J2/J5 experience
  • Relevant planning certifications or joint professional military education
