Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Intelligence Analyst in Las Cruces to support a national defense space warfighting program. You will produce briefed intel reports informing decision-makers about counterspace threats and vulnerabilities to space and ground assets, working with teams across multiple divisions to enhance mission protection.

The role requires deep expertise in space domain threats, operational research, and the ability to guide research and exercise planning with a focus on 24/7

Qualifications

  • 8+ years with BS/BA or 12+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working in an intelligence community and/or military intel career field.
  • Active TS/SCI with adjudicated Poly.
  • Advanced knowledge of foreign/domestic space & ground threat capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team tasks and disseminate actionable space intel to decision-makers across six space operations centers.
  • Research and develop intel assessments and solutions to improve space domain awareness.
  • Lead training development efforts and advise strategic/exercise planning events.
  • Collaborate across divisions and respond to inquiries related to space intelligence.
  • Maintain data resources and systems expertise to support real-world event procedures.
  • Shape confident intel assessments and develop new TTPs for operations.
  • Lead meetings and provide space intelligence knowledge to senior government customers.

Responsibilities

As an Intel Analyst supporting a national defense program space warfighting mission, you will be responsible for providing actionable data through briefed intelligence reports that inform decision-makers and broader Intelligence Community of counterspace (kinetic and non-kinetic) threats and assessed vulnerabilities to space & ground assets conducting 24/7 mission protection operations. This Intel Analyst position is best filled by an expert on terrestrial and on-orbit counterspace threats, capable of guiding research and shaping assessments with team members working in a space operations-focused Intelligence Division. You will work closely with flight safety and mission protection staff and support Indication & Warning (I&W) system integration efforts that progress database accuracy and efficiencies in mission execution. Additionally, the successful candidate will continuously endeavor to close organizational knowledge gaps in an ever-changing space domain environment via committed collaboration, expert collection analysis and balanced resource tasking.

  • Apply advanced Intel analysis skills to lead team tasks and disseminate actionable space intel to decision-makers across six geographically separated space operations centers
  • Research and employ an operational mindset when developing intel assessments and build solutions toward improved organizational space domain awareness
  • Lead training development efforts and advise strategic and exercise planning events
  • Collaborate frequently across divisions (i.e., flight safety, plans, mission protection, strategy and plans, engineering etc.) and respond to object and assessment inquiries
  • Maintain data resources and system expertise to execute real world event procedures
  • Shape confident intel assessments and warn of threats to mission critical space and ground assets; develop new tactics, techniques and procedures TTPs for operations
  • Lead and/or attend meetings as required; provide space intelligence knowledge as a resource to senior military and civilian government customers

Qualifications
  • 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD; 12+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience working in an intelligence community and/or military intel career field
  • Experience working Defensive Space Control, Intelligence Analysis roles
  • Advanced knowledge of foreign/domestic space & ground system threat capabilities
  • Active TS/SCI with adjudicated Poly
Preferred:
  • Expert-level knowledge of foreign/domestic space & ground system threat capabilities
  • 2+ years' prior National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) experience
  • Intermediate or advanced understanding of orbital mechanics and mission applications
  • Previous participation in joint, interagency-level exercise planning and execution
  • Willingness to perform shift work and certify in 24/7 Intel Duty Officer ops position

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
