Growing mid-sized firm located in Madison Wisconsin is seeking to add a Patent Attorney to their growing Intellectual Property practice. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years’ experience and will be managing a wide range of patent-related matters. You\'ll work directly with inventors and clients, providing comprehensive legal counsel that goes beyond simple prosecution to include strategic advice, litigation support, and licensing. Responsibilities

• Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
• Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searching and analysis.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to identify and protect innovations.
• Advise on IP strategy, portfolio management, and risk mitigation.
• Support IP litigation, licensing, and due diligence activities

Qualifications

• A background in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred, although the ideal candidate must be willing and able to practice in more than one technical area.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Member of the US Patent Bar.
• One to three years of experience in patent prosecution is preferred.

Compensation
