Job description

The Cleveland Clinic Department of Wellness and Preventive Medicine seeks a full- or part-time outpatient physician experienced in Integrative and/or Lifestyle Medicine and able to integrate this patient care approach with the reputation and integrity of the Cleveland Clinic. This physician will be part of the Department's Center for Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine and able to provide excellent patient experience and deliver innovative, value-based care at the Cleveland Clinic.

Key Functions
  • Build a patient-centered integrative and lifestyle medicine in-person and virtual practice
  • Build an internal and external referral network resulting in chronically ill and well patients coming to the Cleveland Clinic Center for Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine
  • Work closely with the Section Head in clinical program development and implementation
  • Work closely with team members to optimize the patient care experience
  • Provide feedback to the Vice Chair of Clinical Services, Section Head, and Practice Administrators on effective mechanisms to improve patient flow, patient care, EMR documentation, testing, and therapeutic options.
  • Provide clinical support for shared medical appointments (group visits)
  • Provide education to support patient groups aimed at supporting health behaviors and lifestyle changes
  • Educate medical staff, fellows, residents, and students on integrative and lifestyle medicine
Job Activities
  • Provide chronic disease and wellness care from an Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine perspective by interviewing, assessing, and treating patients, optimizing their function, and improving their quality of life
  • Consult with Section Head and other professionals in the team as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
  • Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families
  • Participate in safety, quality, and patient experience initiatives established by the hospital or department
  • Oversee advanced practice providers as assigned and collaborate with allied health professionals.
  • Assist in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations
  • Complete and accurately document, code, and submit all patient encounter charts on the day of service.
  • Represent the Cleveland Clinic, Department of Wellness and Preventive Medicine in the local and broader community, participating in educational and other medically oriented programs for the public, physicians, and patients
  • Demonstrate through professional behavior and language the philosophy, mission and core values of the Cleveland Clinic: Serve with heart, Succeed as one team, and Shape the future
  • Demonstrate initiative and creativity, decision-making abilities, and work flexibility
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Provide mentoring and/or coaching to allied health clinicians
  • Fulfill all requirements as detailed in the Employment Contract and meet all regular responsibilities of a CC physician, including:
    • Providing medical services in the general care and treatment of patients in both practice and hospital settings
    • Providing comprehensive medical services for patients on a continuing basis
    • Analyzing reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnosing condition of patient
    • Administering or prescribing treatments and medications
    • Promoting health by advising patients concerning diet, lifestyle, and evidence-informed nonpharmacologic methods of prevention and treatment of disease
    • Collaborating and referring patients to specialists when necessary for the patient's well-being
    • Working collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues
Specific Characteristics And Skills Required
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse team members, colleagues, trainees, and patients
  • Superior communication skills, emotional intelligence, flexibility, and the ability to function in a rapidly changing environment
  • Knowledge of EPIC medical records a plus
Qualifications
  • Integrative Medicine or Lifestyle Medicine experience required
  • Certification in Integrative Medicine and/or Lifestyle Medicine (will consider clinicians in progress of certification and clinical experience)
  • Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited medical school
  • License to practice in state of Ohio

The salary range displayed in this job posting reflects the anticipated salary range for new physicians hired into full-time (100% FTE) positions. This range is generally aligned with or below the 50th percentile of nationally recognized compensation benchmarks by specialty. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined in accordance with fair market value, considering factors such as professional experience, clinical expertise, board certification, work history, and FTE. This stated range excludes the value of Cleveland Clinic's comprehensive benefits package, which includes healthcare, dental, vision, retirement, and other offerings.

Minimum salary: $246,500

Maximum salary: $311,500
