Job summary

Deloitte US AI & Engineering is seeking an Integration Engineer III to develop and manage complex integration solutions across multiple tools and platforms. You will work with consultants and vendor teams, implementing API-led connections and EDI workflows while contributing to architecture decisions.

The role requires hands-on experience with Boomi, MuleSoft, Informatica, and cloud integrations, plus strong coding in Groovy/JavaScript and SQL.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with multiple integration tools and products (Boomi, MuleSoft, Informatica, Workato, Tibco, WebSphere) with related certifications.
  • Previous consulting firm experience or work in relevant industries (retail, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services).
  • 3+ years' experience with AWS, Google Apigee or Azure Logic Apps.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration design patterns, API protocols (REST/SOAP), XML, JSON, and data mapping.
  • Proficiency with core integration components: connectors, process building, error handling.
  • Experience writing Groovy and JavaScript in integration environments.
  • Experience with EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and EDI implementations.
  • Strong SQL skills and knowledge of SDLC methodologies.
  • Integration certifications (Boomi, Workato, WebSphere, MuleSoft) and at least one cloud platform certification (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Spring Boot, JavaScript or Python).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% depending on client work and industries.

Work You'll Do

As an Integration Engineer III you will have hands-on integration development skills to develop solutions streamlining business processes working with internal consultants, near-shore, off-shore technologists and vendor relationships. You will be part of API management strategies to enable seamless communication between applications. You will work across geographies with accountability for the success, effectiveness and delivery of multiple work streams, managing a large, dispersed technology team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Integration Design & Architecture: Design complex integration solutions following industry best practices and leveraging various integration design patterns (e.g., publish/subscribe, request/reply, aggregator). Develop and implement solutions that adhere to established enterprise architecture frameworks.


  • API Management: Design, build, and manage APIs using API Management capabilities, ensuring secure and efficient communication between systems (REST/SOAP).


  • EDI Implementation & Management: Implement and manage Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes, including configuration of trading partners, profiles, and standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT).


  • Development & Deployment: Develop, test, and deploy integration processes across environments (Test, UAT, Production), managing the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).


  • Troubleshooting and Support: Monitor integration performance, proactively identify and resolve issues, and provide expert-level post-deployment support.


  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for designs, configurations, data mapping, and architectural decisions.


  • Collaboration & Best Practices: Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize data flows and adhere to industry best practices in integration development.


  • Accountability: Take ownership of assigned integration projects, manage expectations, and guide junior team members toward successful project delivery.


  • AI & Agentic Integration: Utilize AI features (e.g., Boomi GPT, MuleSoft Vibes) to accelerate development, automate documentation, and troubleshoot issues



Qualifications

Required


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field.


  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with the multiple integration tools and products, i.e., Boomi, MuleSoft, Informatica, Workato, Tibco, Websphere, etc. with associated professional certifications.


  • Previous experience working in a consulting firm environment or within a relevant industry sector (e.g. retail, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, etc.).


  • 3+ years' experience working with AWS, Google Apigee or Azure Logic Apps.


  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration design patterns, API protocols (REST/SOAP), XML, JSON, and data mapping.


  • Proficiency with all core Integration components including connectors (Database, FTP, Web Services, ERP specific), process building, and robust error handling.


  • Strong proficiency and experience in writing custom Groovy and JavaScript code within various Integration environments for complex logic and data manipulation.


  • Experience with EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and implementing EDI solutions, including understanding of common documents (810, 850, 856, etc.)


  • Experience with rational databases and strong SQL skills.


  • Strong understanding of the SDLC methodologies.


  • Integration certifications are required - Boomi, Workato, Websphere, MuleSoft, etc.


  • One certification in a cloud technology platform such as AWS, GCP or Azure.


  • Proficiency in at least one programming language - Spring Boot, JavaScript or Python.


  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.



Preferred


  • Familiarity with Boomi Agent Studio, Agent Step, Agent Control Tower, and pre-built agents like DesignGen, Scribe, and Pathfinder.


  • Exposure to and understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)


  • Experience integrating specific enterprise systems such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, HCM, Workday, etc.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $131,00 to $218,300.


You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, the individual, and organizational performance.
