Job summary

Deloitte is seeking an Integration Engineer II specialized in API development and enterprise integration. You will design end-to-end architectures, build backend services and RESTful APIs, and work across Azure and other cloud platforms to connect disparate systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and own delivery across multiple work streams while navigating a global client environment. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, IT, or related field.
• 4+ years building backend services and APIs with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience designing and implementing integration across on-prem and cloud.
• Strong knowledge of integration patterns (ESB, iPaaS, hub-and-spoke).
• Hands-on API design including REST, SOAP, and GraphQL; API security standards (OAuth2, JWT, SAML, API keys).
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms (MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Workato, BizTalk, Boomi).
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; cloud-native architectures.
• SDLC, CI/CD, testing, deployment across multiple environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead/mentor, travel up to 50%, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end system architecture spanning frontend, backend, integration layers, and cloud infrastructure, translating requirements into scalable Azure-based solutions
• Define technical standards, Integration design patterns, and best practices to guide the development team
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and design documents, including data mapping and configuration details
• Build backend services and APIs using Python (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask), Javascript, Azure, Typescript or using enterprise integration tools like MuleSoft , Apigee, Kong, Workato, BizTalk. MUST have recent, hands-on experience with at least two of these tools.
• Design, build, and integrate RESTful APIs - connecting third-party and internal systems for reliable, consistent data exchange
• Implement API security (OAuth2, JWT, API keys), versioning, rate limiting, and robust error handling
• Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including developing, testing, and deploying integration processes across Test, UAT, and Production environments
• Monitor integration performance, proactively troubleshoot issues, and provide expert-level post-deployment support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data flows and ensure adherence to integration best practices
• Take ownership of assigned projects, manage stakeholder expectations, and mentor junior team members toward successful delivery
