Job summary

The Cigna Group's Integration Engineering team is seeking a seasoned professional to build and support enterprise healthcare data interfaces, enabling secure, scalable connectivity for patients, providers, and payers.

You will own end-to-end integration projects, optimize performance, and collaborate across Engineering, DevOps, Implementation, and Support to deliver reliable solutions, with attention to HIPAA-compliant data handling and SOC 2 controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare IT or systems integration.
• Experience with healthcare interface engines and data integration platforms.
• Knowledge of CMS-0057 and Da Vinci FHIR implementation guides.
• Experience leading complex integration projects from development to production.

Join our growing Integration Engineering team and help improve how patients, providers, and health plans connect through the prior authorization process. In this role, you will build and support reliable healthcare integrations, solve complex technical challenges, and partner across teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions. You will bring both technical depth and a collaborative mindset to work that makes healthcare data move more smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize enterprise interfaces that process high volumes of healthcare data, improving reliability, performance, and business continuity.
• Lead integration initiatives from planning and development through testing and production deployment while protecting system stability.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex or fast-escalating issues using database navigation, log analysis, and sound technical judgment.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements, recommend practical solutions, manage dependencies, and deliver strong outcomes.
• Guide teams on healthcare data exchange, interoperability standards, interface design, and secure system integration.
• Research and refine configurations, processes, and emerging technologies to strengthen performance and operational excellence.
• Create clear technical documentation, implementation guides, and knowledge-transfer materials that support long-term success.
• Work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Implementation, and Support teams to deliver coordinated, end-to-end solutions.
• Apply disciplined controls across interface environments to support secure handling of sensitive healthcare data and SOC 2 compliance.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple concurrent projects while building trusted relationships with internal and external partners.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare IT, healthcare technology, systems integration, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with healthcare interface engines and data integration platforms.
• Knowledge of CMS-0057 requirements and Da Vinci FHIR implementation guides.
• Experience leading complex technical integration projects from development through production.
• Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7, FHIR, and X12 278 transactions.
• Experience writing, modifying, and optimizing SQL queries, along with strong database navigation and log analysis skills.
• Knowledge of electronic health record data structures, healthcare applications, workflows, and system integrations.
• Experience working with sensitive data in secure and compliant environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, customer relationship, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to understand complex data models, manage competing priorities, work independently, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn new technologies, applications, and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, healthcare informatics, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud technologies, including Microsoft Azure.
• Experience providing technical consulting, training, or knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Experience working directly with healthcare payers, providers, or healthcare technology organizations.

Travel

• Minimal travel may be required.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 110,500 - 184,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
