Job summary

Steampunk, Inc. is seeking an Integration Engineer to join our DevSecOps practice. You will develop APIs and integrations that connect data, services, and systems to help customers achieve their mission.

This role requires securing environments, understanding business needs, and implementing complex integrations. The team values collaboration, mentoring, and continuous improvement as we deliver scalable integration solutions across cloud platforms.

Qualifications

  • U.S. government security clearance required.
  • BS in IT field or BS in a non-IT field with 2 years related IT experience.
  • 6+ years of experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • 6+ years with Git SCM providers (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
  • 6+ years of experience with programming or scripting languages and with one or more integration technologies (e.g., MuleSoft).

Responsibilities

  • Understand stakeholder needs and translate them to developers.
  • Test and review code and analyze results.
  • Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats.
  • Identify technical problems and develop fixes.
  • Develop APIs and integrations across platforms.
  • Create technical documentation for integrations.
  • Document as-is environments and perform gap analyses.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute as an individual contributor.
  • Propose continuous improvements for services.
  • Present status updates and cross-train team members.

Job description

As an Integration Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice developing APIs and integration capabilities to connect data, services, and systems to help our customers achieve their mission. We are looking for candidates with experience with cloud platform services, understanding business requirements and implement complex integrations .

Contributions
Responsibilities Include
  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
  • Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and ‘fixes’
  • Develop APIs and integrations using a broad range of software programming tasks to ensure that their systems integrations are functional.
  • Create and provide technical documentation that explains upcoming or existing integrations to non-technical individuals
  • Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
  • Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members
  • Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
  • Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members.
Qualifications
Required
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
  • BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
  • 6 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • 6 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
  • 6 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages6 Years of Ex perience with one or more integration technologies, such as Mulesoft
Preferred
  • Certifications:
    • AW S Cloud Practitioner
    • AWS Solution Architect Associate
    • Azure Developer Associate
    • Mulesoft Certified Developer – Level 2
  • 6 Years of application development experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes
  • Experience designing, implementing, and documenting APIs
  • Experience utilizing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI
  • Experience implementing Automated Testing frameworks to test APIs and integrations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $160,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
