Job summary

SkyePoint Decisions is seeking an Integration/API/Data Engineer for a remote, contingent role supporting federal clients. You will design and implement RESTful APIs, interfaces, data exchanges, and integration services that securely connect customer systems and enable automation across development, security, workflow, and ATO processes.

This role requires 8+ years of experience in API/data integration, strong security practices, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust or Secret clearance. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience building APIs, system interfaces, and data integrations in enterprise settings.
• Knowledge of API security, automated testing, source control, CI/CD, and technical documentation.
• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a Public Trust / Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain RESTful APIs and integration components.
• Analyze source/target systems, data models, requirements, and error-handling needs.
• Implement secure data exchanges, transformation, and event-driven integration patterns.

This is a contingent position based upon contract win.

SkyePoint Decisions is seeking an Integration/API/Data Engineer to join our team supporting a federal customer. This position is contingent on contract win.

This person will design and implements APIs, interfaces, data exchanges, and integration services that connect customer systems and automation capabilities, enabling secure movement and use of data across development, security, workflow, and ATO processes.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain RESTful APIs, services, interfaces, connectors, and integration components using customer-approved technologies.
• Analyze source and target systems, data models, interface requirements, dependencies, and error-handling needs .
• Implement secure data exchange, transformation, validation, orchestration, and event-driven integration patterns.
• Develop reusable integration services that support evidence collection, assessment workflows, analytics, policy enforcement, and decision support.
• Collaborate with security engineers to apply authentication, authorization, secrets management, encryption, logging, and secure-coding controls.
• Collaborate with data/analytics engineers to define schemas, mappings, data quality checks, lineage, and operational data requirements.
• Develop automated unit/integration tests, interface documentation, ADRs, runbooks, README content, and release notes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated software engineering experience developing APIs, system interfaces, data integrations, or reusable services in enterprise environments.
• Experience with structured data formats, API security, automated testing, source control, CI/CD, and technical documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex cross-system integration and data-flow issues.
• Ability to obtain a 6c Public Trust. At least an active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
