Integration and Automation Engineer

About us:

At Fullbay, our mission is simple — to create safer roads for our families and yours. As leaders in the heavy-duty repair industry, we power shops with technology that helps them run smarter and more efficiently. As an AI-First company, we invite artificial intelligence to eliminate friction, spark innovation, and drive efficiencies in every conversation— for our teams and our customers. Fullbay is the number one cloud-based shop management software for commercial repair shops and is growing fast. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team and help shape the next phase of growth for the company.

Position Overview:

Fullbay runs on a growing portfolio of business applications, and the Integration & Automation Engineer makes them work as one system. You'll design, build, and operate the integrations, data pipelines, and automations that connect Rillet, Salesforce, Masset, Slack, and the Snowflake data warehouse, so data moves reliably, manual work disappears, and reporting can be trusted.

This is a core technical seat inside IT and Security, and an early one. You'll set the standards for how integrations get built, monitored, documented, and secured, all while supporting two parallel product platforms during the migration. The work also lays the foundation for how AI agents access Fullbay's data, which makes this a chance to shape both how the company runs today and how it uses AI tomorrow.

The Right Wrench for the Job

In a heavy-duty shop, the best technicians know that a truck doesn't run on one good part. It runs because the fuel system, the electrical harness, and the ECM all talk to each other without anyone thinking about it. When one connection fails, the whole rig sits in the bay. That's the work this role owns: the connections nobody notices until they break.

You're the right fit if you take pride in integrations that run quietly, fail loudly, and can be picked up by someone else without a phone call. You're comfortable moving from an API doc to a Snowflake model to a runbook in the same afternoon, you treat credentials and service accounts with the care they deserve, and you're curious about how AI agents will tap into company data in the years ahead.

This isn't the role for someone who needs a dedicated integration team, an established architecture, and a backlog that's already been scoped. If you do your best work when the standards are already written and someone else decides how things connect, this isn't your shop. But if you're energized by building the plumbing from scratch, enjoy partnering with Finance, RevOps, and IT to turn manual pain into reliable automation, and want to help define how Fullbay's data works for both people and agents, we'd like to talk.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • API Integration Development: Design, build, and maintain integrations between Fullbay's business applications (e.g., Rillet, Salesforce, Masset, Slack, Snowflake) to enable reliable, automated data flow across systems.
  • Data Pipelines: Build and maintain data pipelines feeding Fullbay's Snowflake data warehouse, supporting both organizational reporting and AI agent consumption of Fullbay data.
  • Process Automation: Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes across business applications and design automations that remove them, in partnership with the business owners affected.
  • Monitoring & Error Handling: Build monitoring, logging, and alerting for integration jobs so failures are caught and resolved before they affect the business, rather than discovered downstream.
  • Vendor API Management: Manage API credentials and authentication for integrated systems, track vendor API changes and deprecations, and coordinate directly with vendors on integration issues.
  • Dual-Platform Awareness: Account for Fullbay's two parallel product platforms (legacy and current systems) when building integrations that touch product data, since both remain in active use during the migration period.
  • Documentation: Document integration architecture, data flows, credentials ownership, and runbooks so integrations are maintainable by others, not just their original builder.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with business stakeholders (e.g., Finance on Rillet, RevOps on Salesforce) and other IT & Security team members to gather integration requirements and prioritize work.
  • Security & Access Governance: Apply least-privilege principles to service accounts and API keys, and support security review of integrations as Fullbay's governance program matures.
  • Adheres to all confidentiality and compliance regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Work Experience:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building integrations or automations between SaaS/business applications required.
  • Practical experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and modern authentication protocols (OAuth2, API keys) required.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language commonly used for integration work required.
  • Experience working with a cloud data warehouse platform (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered in place of a degree.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Comfort working independently in a fully remote environment, with no dedicated integration team to lean on and while helping define the processes as they're built.
  • Experience with Snowflake specifically, including data modeling for a warehouse serving both reporting and application/agent consumption, strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: experience integrating financial/accounting systems (e.g., Rillet, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct).
  • Preferred: experience with the Salesforce API and data model.
  • Preferred: experience with AWS services relevant to integration work (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge).
  • Preferred: familiarity with iPaaS/automation platforms (e.g., Workato, Zapier, Tray.io, n8n).
  • Preferred: exposure to MCP (Model Context Protocol) or other emerging patterns for AI agent access to business data and systems.
  • Preferred: experience at a small or scaling company (under ~500 employees) where integration processes and standards were still being built.
  • Strong written communication skills, with a track record of documenting technical work clearly for others to maintain.
  • Security-conscious approach to credential, secret, and API key management.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
