Pratt & Whitney’s Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles (MSEN) organization is seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer to join the team as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for the 30K (NEO) Mechanical System project team. In this role, you will have part-level ownership of bearing compartment components, including bearings, seals, housings, and related hardware, and will be accountable to the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) for task planning and execution. You will be responsible for driving the IPT to achieve overall component technical, cost, quality, schedule, and business objectives. The position provides significant opportunities to interface directly with engineering management, program management, suppliers, customers, SIPTs, IPMTs, and senior leadership. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically proficient, highly organized, and an effective communicator who can lead and influence cross-functional teams while meeting the demands of Next Generation Product Family engine programs. Experience across the product lifecycle—design, manufacturing, development, validation, entry into service, and field service support—is highly valued.

  • Manage IPT budgets, schedules, and technical/business metrics against program requirements; monitor performance, identify variances, and implement timely corrective actions to maintain commitments for cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance.
  • Support product validation and engine activities by providing technical leadership during validation engine builds, engine testing, development, entry into service, and resolution of field service issues; collaborate with engineering, program management, suppliers, and customers throughout the product lifecycle.

Travel Requirement: Travel up to 10% domestic and international travel.

What You Will Learn:
  • Gain end-to-end product lifecycle experience spanning design, manufacturing, development, validation, engine build and test, entry into service, and field service support.
  • Develop advanced IPT/CIPT leadership and program execution skills, including ownership of technical requirements, risk management, budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.
  • Gain experience working directly with customers, suppliers, engineering leadership, program management, SIPTs, IPMTs, and senior management in a complex aerospace environment.
  • Expand technical knowledge of bearing compartment mechanical systems, including bearings, seals, housings, and related turbofan engine hardware.
  • Develop leadership, communication, problem-solving, and continuous-improvement capabilities while influencing cross-functional teams to deliver strategic program objectives.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience in the Manufacturing, Military, Logistics, Aerospace, or Aviation industry with demonstrated experience in engineering/program execution, managing technical requirements, risks, schedules, budgets, and deliverables; leading cross-functional teams; communicating with leadership, customers, and suppliers; or delivering results in a customer-focused, collaborative environment.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and experience in the aerospace or turbofan engine industry, with exposure to mechanical systems and/or bearing compartments.
  • Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney’s Leadership Operating Model (LOM) or a similar operating framework, with demonstrated organizational and project management skills; PMP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams in strategic projects and initiatives, including strong organizational, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Resourceful problem solver with experience addressing complex technical and business challenges, including vendor- and customer-facing issues; experience with Continuous Improvement, LEAN, CORE, ACE, and/or Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers, along with proficiency using Microsoft Office, Solumina, SAP, Teamcenter, and/or similar engineering and business systems.
What We Offer:
  • Eligible for Relocation.
