Job summary

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding seeks a skilled scheduler to prepare and coordinate the integrated master plan and schedule to meet program objectives. You will ensure cross-functional integration across finance, engineering, material, manufacturing and quality teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's or higher degree with relevant exempt experience; various equivalencies are accepted. The team values collaboration and technical excellence in naval shipbuilding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience.
  • Equivalents to Bachelor's Degree may meet minimum qualifications as listed above.
  • NNS Apprentice School or NNPS graduates may meet minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, develops and coordinates the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule to meet all program objectives.
  • Ensures major projects and program schedules are integrated across finance, engineering, material, manufacturing and quality.
  • Tracks plans and schedules, performs risk analysis, identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts.
  • Uses project management tools (Gantt, PERT, milestones, EV) to gauge progress and identify variances.

The Role

Prepares, develops and coordinates the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule to meet all program objectives. Ensures major projects and program schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing and quality. Tracks plans and schedules, performs risk analysis, identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts. Utilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
