Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Integrated Construction Coordinator I to join our Civil Group to review, analyze, and resolve field coordination issues with project teams. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential for success in a changing environment.

You will plan, implement, and coordinate Virtual Design and Construction processes and use Civil 3D to design road and site grading models, while collaborating with survey teams and leveraging Trimble Business Center.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field.
• Experience with BIM/VDC software training completed at beginner or intermediate level.
• Knowledge of survey data preferred and GIS data management a plus.
• 2+ years related experience and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Mortenson’s Integrated Delivery Advancement Team community of practice.
• Plan, implement, and coordinate VDC processes using appropriate technology.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design road/site grading models with alignments and profiles.
• Work with survey data and Trimble Business Center to deliver designs.
• Support BIM/VDC uses including 3D visualization, coordination, and site planning.
• Serve as point of contact for VDC processes and reports through all project phases.
• Document work processes to improve current company standards.

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Integrated Construction Coordinator I to join our Civil Group to review, provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants. Excellent communication skills are necessary as you will interact with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Demonstrating the ability to be flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality will be vital for your success. Strong planning and organization skills are critical for completing your tasks.

What will you be doing?

• As an integrated construction team member, you should be an active participant in Mortenson’s Integrated Delivery Advancement Team community of practice – Knowledge sharing
• Planning, implementing, and coordinating Virtual Design and Construction processes through appropriate technology platforms
• Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D to design optimized road and site grading models, alignments, profiles, corridors, grading groups, etc.
• Working with survey data; communicating with project field teams through Trimble Business Center software to deliver designs to survey equipment.
• Including, but not limited to Mortenson BIM/VDC uses: existing conditions modeling, cost estimation, phase planning (4D), site analysis, design reviews, 3D visualization, 3D coordination, site utilization planning, construction system design, digital fabrication, 3D control planning, and record modeling
• Provide point of contact for team members on VDC processes and reports during all phases of construction
• Document work process as it relates to improving and/or changing current company process standards

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field
• Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and/or ArcGIS software backgrounds are preferred
• 2+ years related experience
• Survey data knowledge and/or experience is preferred
• GIS data management is a plus
• Completion of beginner or intermediate level of BIM/VDC software training
• Displaying attention to detail to organize and run multiple project tasks
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
• Demonstrate ability to work in Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
• Exhibit a positive professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively
• Current driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is $76,600 MIN - $95,800 MAX.

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
