Job summary

Jackson County, NC is seeking an advanced social worker to perform protective, investigative, counseling and case management services for at‑risk children. The role includes crisis response, court testimony and coordination of foster care or treatment services.

The ideal candidate holds a master’s in social work and has relevant experience; licensure and a valid NC driver’s license are required. Office hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, with on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or equivalent education with relevant licensure or credential.
• Experience in protective services, child welfare and court testimony is preferred.
• Ability to work under stress and manage complex cases with sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Investigate alleged neglect/abuse and substantiate findings per guidelines.
• Provide crisis intervention and case management for at-risk children.
• Deliver treatment to families and children through individual, group, or family sessions.
• Prepare investigative reports and testify as an expert witness in court.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan services and placements.
• Maintain compliance with state/federal laws and agency policies.
• Manage caseloads and follow through on case management visits.
