Mission Health, an operating division of HCA Healthcare, seeks an Intake Therapist to perform psychiatric assessments and initial IVC evaluations both in-person and via telehealth. You will collaborate with emergency room and psychiatry teams to determine care levels and coordinate discharge plans.
The role requires a licensed professional with social work credentials and experience in mental health, supporting de-escalation and crisis response across care teams.
The Intake Therapist works with a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of emergency room and psychiatry providers to provide high quality, patient-centered care. As an independently licensed professional, this role performs psychiatric assessments and first evaluations for involuntary commitment (IVC) both in-person and via telehealth. Once the patient is evaluated, the Intake Therapist collaborates with emergency room physicians and psychiatrists to make level of care determinations, and coordinates treatment/discharge plans. Professionals in this role also serve as a resource to the broader care team by assisting with de-escalation in crisis situations, guiding them through the IVC process, and providing information about inpatient hospitalization and community resources.
