Job summary

New Oakland Family Services seeks an Intake Therapist to deliver high-quality mental health services within the FACE to FACE Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient Programs. This full-time role blends clinical expertise with administrative duties to ensure seamless client care and program support.

Qualifications

  • Active current clinical licensure in Michigan (LPC, LMSW, LLP, LP preferred; LLC, LLMSW acceptable; TLLP not eligible).

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, person-centered care by addressing client needs with professionalism, empathy, and creativity while promoting recovery and well-being.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and evaluations for new or potential clients on scheduled and emergency bases.
  • Provide therapeutic support within Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient Programs as needed.
  • Participate in Utilization Review processes, including obtaining authorizations for services.
  • Manage crisis situations appropriately, including CPI-approved physical interventions and CPR if necessary.
  • Complete required documentation in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in daily admin and clinical meetings to support a collaborative work environment.
  • Meet licensing requirements and complete continuing education for full licensure in Michigan.

Position Details

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or another full-time equivalent as determined by Director or Supervisor

Reports to: Clinical Director / Associate Clinical Director / Clinical Supervisor

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience, license type, and productivity, with eligibility for productivity bonuses awarded twice per year (every six months).

Position Summary

The Intake Therapist is a full-time role responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate, and ethical mental health services within the FACE to FACE Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient Programs. This role combines clinical expertise with administrative responsibilities to ensure seamless client care and program support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, person-centered care by addressing client needs with professionalism, empathy, and creativity while promoting recovery and well-being.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and evaluations for new or potential clients on both scheduled and emergency bases.
  • Provide therapeutic support and assistance within the Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient Programs as needed.
  • Participate in Utilization Review processes, including obtaining and maintaining authorizations for services provided.
  • Manage crisis situations appropriately, including CPI-approved physical interventions, CPR if necessary, and pursuit of eloping clients.
  • Demonstrate and maintain stable, professional, and appropriate boundaries with clients at all times.
  • Complete required documentation in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.
  • Attend and actively participate in daily administrative and clinical meetings, as well as broader team meetings, to contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Promote quality, efficiency, and compliance in the delivery of care management and clinical services.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude toward learning, adaptability in a dynamic environment, and openness to constructive feedback with a willingness to grow professionally.
  • Meet eligibility requirements and successfully complete the Michigan licensing exam for full licensure within the required timeframe, if applicable.
  • Stay current with all professional training and continuing education requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Working Conditions

  • This role requires extended periods of remaining in a stationary position during HIPAA-compliant telehealth and in-person sessions and requires the ability to perform physical activities such as bending and reaching.   • The position involves prolonged active listening and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in using computers, phones, and office equipment for documentation and telehealth purposes is necessary. This includes but is not limited to Office 365 and Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • The role may require moving within the office or traveling between locations to fulfill job responsibilities. Reasonable accommodation will be considered based on individual needs.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology required.
  • Active current clinical licensure (LPC, LMSW, LLP, LP preferred; LLC, LLMSW acceptable; TLLP not eligible) in the State of Michigan and continued satisfactory standings with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
